Planning and executing conferences and events

Description

I have been involved in a number of different conferences in the past five years, both on a voluntarily level and as coordinating assistant. This has strengthening my overview and coordinating skills even more and has always brought along chances to gain a lot of new knowledge within the different fields. Here is an overview of the different events I have been involved in:

 

  • Digital Markedsføring 2014:
    This conference is held by it-forum once a year and gathers everyone who is interested in digital marketing – from social media to search engine optimization. My primary tasks were placed before and after the day of the conference and included keeping the website content updated and planning/managing all content for social media. Besides this, I assisted in more practical activities such as coordinating for speakers and participants.
  • Media Architecture Biennale 2012 + 2014:
    MAB is a biennial international conference that was held in Aarhus in 2012 and 2014. In 2012 I was a volunteer who in collaboration with a fellow student got the full responsible of taking care of all the student volunteers. This included coordinating the students’ travel, accommodation and tasks at the conference plus having the overview in proportion to all the questions and enquiries that ended up in the reception desk. In 2014 I was hired as an assistant for the general chair and was this time in charge of the full overview of all participants and speakers at the conference and taking care of travel and accommodation for the speakers.
  • Appy Days 2014:
    Appy Days is a two-day marathon competition where participants compete in creating the best application. Again my primary role was to keep the website and social media updated before and after the event where I produced content calendars and the actual content for the digital channels.
  • Interaction Design and Children 2014:
    IDC is also an international conference that brings together researchers, designers and educators to explore new forms of technology, design and engaged learning among children. Together with a fellow student I was hired to be head of the student volunteers that included coordinating their travel, accommodation and general stay in Aarhus and at the conference.
  • Community Conference 2013:
    At my time at Seismonaut I was involved in planning their annual Community Conference on community and social business. I participated in varying tasks from digital marketing to practical execution.
